5 tips for staying motivated with CrossFit during winter

Train for an event or competition

There is nothing like having a short-term goal to work towards to keep you focused and on track with your fitness and training. This is exactly what 55 members from CrossFit Coorparoo did when they participated in the CrossFit Coorparoo In House Competition last week
It doesn’t have to be a CrossFit competition or event, just starting a new fitness program will help keep you motivated during the cooler months. If you have ever wanted to try CrossFit jump on our free trial offer.

Set a goal

Not really into CrossFit? No problem! Set another goal, such as a daily run or yoga class. Stick a photo of that bikini or motivational image you want on the fridge and write down 3 things you need to do to achieve this goal. When you see that goal everyday, knowing each day that passes brings you closer to hitting the goal you are going to be keen to close that fridge door and get on with your daily fitness program. There’s nothing like a picture to motivate you. Whatever image works for you, stick it up where you’ll see it every day and make sure you have at least 3 key points or things your need to do daily to reach this goal.

This is a very simple way and effective way to set a goal. However, all CFC members have access to a full goal setting worksheet which digs deep into what it takes to set the building blocks to ensure you reach your fitness goals guaranteed.

This is what CFC members Brent and Bek did and have achieved amazing results

Focus on the benefits

Its always harder to pull yourself out of bed on the early cold mornings. That’s why you need to remind yourself of the benefits exercise brings you. Reduce those stress levels, increase your energy and feel good about yourself with like minded positive people. So create a list of all the benefits of what exercise and being fit gives you!!. Read it daily and become familiar with why you are doing that you do and be grateful. Aside from exercise, you can also read the benefits of hemp and how impactful it can be in your daily life.

Get a coach

Coaches are super important even the best in the world have a coach. For both motivation, accountability and of cause providing knowledge and guidance. What you will achieve in 3 years on your own you will more than likely achieve in 1 year with a good coach. Learn off someone who has and is already doing it, there is no need to waste time by trying to figure it out on your own.

Reward yourself

When you reach your goal, reward yourself. YOU NEED TO CELEBRATE your achievements no matter how big or small. It’s a journey reward yourself along the way.

If you would like any assistance on getting started or bringing back your motivation, reach out to us here at CrossFit Coorparoo. We are always ready to help and support you on your fitness journey.

On Saturday the 21st May CrossFit Coorparoo held it’s first In House CrossFit Competition. For many CFC members this was their first CrossFit competition and I could not be more proud of each and every one of the 55 participants

The competition included 4 WODs

WOD 1 Ground to Overhead, Toes to Bar. A standard sort of Crossfit Competition WOD. Moving barbells, gymnastic movement, plenty of grip strength and the need to set your core.

WOD 2 Strength Complex. 3x Deadlift + Power Clean + Front Squat, all touch and go.

WOD 3 Chipper. Rowing, Kettlebell swings, Box Overs wall balls and and max effort rope climbs rope climbs.

And of cause the 4th WOD which was a night out to celebrate the days achievements.

There were many highlights to the day with numerous PB’s and in true CrossFit Coorparoo spirit a HUGE amount of support and encouragement from fellow peers. It is said over and over again that CrossFit Coorparoo really does have a special family community and this event proved that once again.
